Pulteney ELC Recognised in State Government’s Flying Start for Kids Initiative

Pulteney Grammar School is proud to share that its Early Learning Centre has been selected as one of only 200 early childhood centres across South Australia to partner with the State Government’s Flying Start for Kids initiative, officially announced today by Premier Peter Malinauskas.
This initiative supports the delivery of high-quality, teacher-led preschool programs for three-year-olds and recognises early learning environments already delivering outstanding care and education.
More than 90% of a child’s brain development occurs before the age of five, making the early years the perfect time to build confidence, curiosity and essential life skills. Research shows that two years of preschool before starting school gives children the strongest foundation to thrive in both learning and life.
Pulteney’s selection in this initiative reflects the exceptional standard already in place at the ELC. With degree-qualified Early Childhood Teachers in every room, supported by experienced Diploma and Certificate III educators, Pulteney’s teacher-led model is designed to meet the developmental, social and learning needs of young children in a nurturing, play-based environment.
This initiative does not change how the ELC operates. Rather, it affirms the strength of the program and enables further enhancements, including:
- Additional professional development opportunities for ELC educators;
- Expanded connections to allied health to support wraparound care;
- Continued delivery of a program centred on children’s wellbeing and learning outcomes.
Pulteney looks forward to continuing to offer an exceptional early learning experience to its youngest learners as part of this important state-wide initiative.
