JPE Design Studio appointed for Pulteney’s new Master Plan

Pulteney Grammar School has appointed South Australian architecture and design firm JPE Design Studio to lead the master planning process for the future of its campus.

JPE were selected after a comprehensive tender and evaluation process to identify a partner who has the capability, experience and also an understanding of Pulteney to deliver a Master Plan that optimises the scale and composition of Pulteney’s physical assets and identifies strategies and necessary investments over the coming years to maintain a contemporary School site which provides a world-class learning environment.

“A masterplan provides the opportunity to ‘take the bird’s eye view’ of the school. It is only four years ago that the School consolidated the entire site and thus this process provides the opportunity to consider how best to make use of the entire and unique Pulteney campus,” said Principal, Cameron Bacholer.

“Pulteney’s 2021 – 2026 Strategic Plan articulates the importance of the learning environment. When clarity of vision aligns with 21st century pedagogical thinking and practice, we have the opportunity to unlock our incredible School site to create spaces fit for purpose that inspire creativity, curiosity, collaboration, critical thinking, social connection and support each student to prosper,” Mr Bacholer said.

Importantly, the Master Plan will guide the activation of our unique campus to consolidate activities and provide facilities for our students, staff and the broader community to connect and collaborate over the next decade and beyond. It will do so whilst striking a balance to celebrate the past and adapt for the future.

As the School celebrates its 175th anniversary, the launch of the master plan is an exciting new chapter in the story of Pulteney. Perhaps even more so, as we partner again with JPE Design Studio, who themselves have a long history spanning more than 170 years and have worked on a multitude of projects for the School.

The master plan process will include a comprehensive consultation phase, a staged implementation plan, concept plans and a cost plan for works. Dsquared Consulting have also joined the team to provide environmental sustainability advice and future planning.
