Pulteney Triumphs at Tournament of Minds International Final
We are thrilled to share that Pulteney’s STEM team has won their division at the Tournament of Minds International Final at UNSW, triumphing over ten of the best teams from around Australia and the world.
These talented students – Ishaan Adak, Miroslava Baryshnikova, Maggie Cannon, Vivaan Chandra, Sebastian Gollan, Liam Schwartz, and Alexander Smith – demonstrated outstanding depth of STEM knowledge and showcased exceptional collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills throughout the event.
Our Social Sciences team – Evangelia (Lia) Cacas, Xavier Lee, Irvin Nguyen, Edward Smith, Oliver Tran, Meixi (Tiffany) Yan, and Zhiqi (Tom) Zhang – also performed brilliantly in an extremely competitive field. While they did not place this time, they showed true sportsmanship, celebrating their STEM teammates’ success with generosity and genuine enthusiasm.
This year’s International Final brought together more than 600 students from every Australian state and territory, as well as teams from around the world, including New Zealand, the UAE, and Hong Kong.
All teams represented South Australia and Pulteney Grammar with pride, maturity, and integrity. They have trained and worked together for months, supporting each other every step of the way. The STEM win represents not only the dedication of that particular team but also the cumulative effort, encouragement, and shared learning of both groups.
The teams were coached and facilitated by Katelyn Baker and Sarah Roff, with Mitchell Yeates accompanying the trip to assist with supervision. Each of these staff members expressed how proud they are of the students’ responsibility, inclusivity, and the positive way they connected with peers from across Australia and the world.
We are incredibly proud of every single student involved – they are a truly special group of young people who exemplify the Navy Blue spirit of creativity, collaboration, and community.
