2024 Annual Giving Campaign
Why Support the Science Lab Refurbishment?
In today’s rapidly evolving world, scientific thinking is essential for success across countless industries. The ability to solve complex problems, think critically, and innovate is crucial. By donating to our Science Lab Refurbishment Fund, you are directly investing in the future of education at Pulteney. These new labs will provide students from Junior School to Year 12 with the environment they need to engage deeply with science through hands-on learning and collaboration.
Our vision for the new science labs goes beyond just upgrading facilities. These flexible spaces will be designed to adapt to different teaching methods, foster collaboration and inspire creativity. Students will explore scientific concepts in innovative ways, preparing them to meet the challenges of the future with confidence.
Your support for this project will help us lay the foundation for generations of future scientists, engineers, and thinkers, empowering them to succeed in the 21st century and beyond.

Our current science labs have served us well for over 20 years; however, they are no longer adequate for the demands of a modern science education. With your support, we will create flexible, dynamic spaces equipped with the latest technology, designed to inspire, and
challenge students at all year levels. The refurbishment of our science labs is just the first step in a multi-year initiative to refresh our science facilities.
How will new science labs benefit current and future students?
Our Year 12 students, soon to graduate, emphasised the need for updated science facilities. Emerson McClurg believes that new labs would inspire students to pursue careers in science. Mackenzie Weaver highlighted the importance of passionate teachers in sparking students’ interest, while James Bradley pointed out that better facilities would provide more opportunities for students.
Nadia Maglica, our Head of Science, noted that upgraded labs would allow students to safely engage in more complex experiments, fostering their passion for STEM.
Two of our keen young scientists, Daniel Maddern and Anya Liang from Year 4, are excited about the prospect of modern labs.
Daniel, an Oliphant Science Award winner, has a keen interest in chemistry and biology. Anya loves all areas of science and believes new labs would enhance hands-on learning opportunities.
Our youngest ‘researchers’ are also looking forward to improved facilities as they begin their science journey. Grace from Year 2 summed it up: “New science labs would be great as we keep growing and discovering new things.”
