Pulteney Grammar School is proud to present its 2025 Year 7 – 12 musical production: Urinetown.

In the not-too-distant future, a terrible water shortage (caused by a 20-year drought) has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by the malevolent Urine Good Company, who profit by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom.

Urinetown is a very fun show with lots of spectacle. This satirical comedy musical first premiered in 2001, winning three Tony Awards (including Best Book and Score). It’s quirky, bold and full of laughs. Popular songs include ‘It’s a Privilege to Pee’; ‘Cop Song’, ‘Run, Freedom Run’ and ‘Look at the Sky’.

Our production is a significant event in our Pulteney community, with over 120 students and 20 staff involved on and offstage. The entire company have been working very hard on our show, and we can’t wait to bring it to life! The show is fast-paced and a lot of fun, with memorable songs, an array of costumes, and dynamic dance sequences.

Gather a group and join us in the sewers for a night of laughter, love, and fun!
