My name is Paige, and I am extremely honoured to hold the position of Pulteney Vice-Captain for 2019.
To start with, I thought I would let you know a little bit about myself; I am very passionate about music, love playing a wide variety of sports, and have been told that I am ‘slightly’ competitive.
Upon arriving at Pulteney in Year 8, I was absolutely terrified. The idea of beginning at a new school where I knew no one was a daunting prospect. Yet, on the first day of school, I was welcomed with open arms, and established friendships which I still have to this day. I believe that this is one of the best aspects about Pulteney; the sense of community and the way in which students and staff interact with one another. Kindness and support are integral components of Pulteney culture, and create a warm, welcoming environment. I hope to continually express and develop this culture within Pulteney through my leadership position this year.
Another key aspect that makes Pulteney unique is its emphasis upon learning outside of the classroom. Throughout my time at Pulteney, I have been fortunate enough to be involved in many different activities, ranging from school sports such as Softball and Netball, Musical ensembles such as Stage Band and Concert Band, and experiential learning trips such as Ski Trip. These opportunities have allowed me to develop into a well-rounded individual and provided me with skills that I believe will assist me both now and in my future.
I am incredibly excited to be able to work with such a cohesive and supportive leadership team this year, and to be able to make a positive difference in the Pulteney community.
