Reception 2021 Orientation Morning

On Friday 20 November, we have the Reception Orientation Morning scheduled from 9.45-11am. Children who usually attend the ELC on Fridays begin the day in the ELC as normal. At 9.45am the ELC staff will take the Reception children for 2021 upstairs to their new classrooms. If your child does not normally attend the ELC for Friday sessions, please take them directly to the Reception classrooms at 9.45am. Your child’s class placement letter will be sent to you before the orientation visit. Parents are able to take their child to the classroom door and then come downstairs to enjoy some coffee or tea in the Kurrajong Courtyard. The children will stay with their Reception teacher for some fun activities in the classroom. Reception teachers will then bring the students downstairs at 10:30am to have their morning tea. ELC children will return to their classrooms at 10.50am to resume their day of learning. Children who are continuing in the ELC in 2021 will stay in the classroom for activities with the ELC staff during this time.

Outdoor Classroom Day

Students in Kurrajong spent most of the day outdoors, exploring natural materials and loose parts with a focus on developing STEAM thinking dispositions in nature. It was delightful to see children and teachers utilising the Parklands and the lawns on our school grounds throughout the day, while they played, created and experimented.

Christmas Hampers And Giving Tree

Once again Kurrajong families will be invited to donate items for Christmas hampers. Anglicare is hoping that schools will be able to provide hampers for the homeless and families on the poverty line. Class teachers will provide information to parents regarding the specific hampers for each class. A Christmas Giving Tree is also set up in Kurrajong for Pulteney families who would like to buy a Christmas present for a child whose family cannot afford to buy gifts. If you would like to contribute, please take a tag from the giving tree, purchase your gift and then place your gift with the tag under the tree. Please do not wrap the purchased gifts. Thank you.

Kurrajong Concert

Our Reception to Year 2 Kurrajong Christmas Concert is on 18 November 2020. A reminder that due to strict Covid-19 procedures, tickets for allocated seating are essential for attendance. If you have not done so already, please go to https://www.trybooking.com/BMKYU to secure your tickets before 9am Friday 13 November 2020.

Carols Service

Due to the Cathedral having COVID-19 restrictions, we have had to limit the number of choirs that will be performing at the Carols service on Tuesday 24 November. This year the Kurrajong Choir will not be performing but will still be represented by two Year 2 students who will read a lesson. At present the numbers are limited to two people per family. If you and your child would like to attend, you can book via the trybooking system on the PRW events page. Please continue to refer to the PRW if you would like to book tickets as these will made available when families from performing choirs have booked their places.

Pulteney Storybook Series

Each Friday we will be sharing a storybook online read by one of our Pulteney staff members or students. Storytelling helps to build connections among people and improves listening skills that are essential in learning and in relationships. We hope your family enjoys listening to the books selected each week by members of our school community. This week, you can see Principal Cameron Bacholer share a book titled ‘Thank you, Mr Panda’ by Steve Antony.
