Prep School

Term 4 Dance Program

The Prep School children are currently enjoying a block of dance lessons led by Erin Zilm from Dancify - Dance Education for Kids. Dancify teaches Australian National curriculum based dance in a wide range of dances and styles, planned to engage students of all ages.

Erin has introduced the children to a variety of dances to date, designed to develop skills in fundamental movement, flexibility and fitness. Year level groups have loved participating in the program specifically designed to build self-confidence, creativity and self-esteem in students at all year levels.

Grandparents’ Day

All students are also busily writing letters to grandparents’ and special friends as we had to cancel our annual Grandparents’ and Special Friends Day for 2020 due to COVID 19. The children are writing poems, tributes and letters of gratitude and thanks to their grandparents’ or special friends which will be posted on 5 November.

Grandparents’ Day is a favourite event for all in the Prep School and we look forward to celebrating this occasion again in 2021.

Class placements 2021

During the next few weeks the 2021 classroom lists will be compiled. Placement for students result from a range of information gathered from the current year by classroom and learning support teachers, together with an awareness of individual student academic and social development and peer interactions. The successful implementation of these guidelines ensures a smooth transition whereby the learning and wellbeing of each student remains paramount.

As the Prep School staffing for next year is still in the process of being finalised a letter outlining class placements for 2021 will be sent to parents and carers in due course.

Please note that all written requests from parents will be taken into consideration as class lists are formed. However, I must stress that, as it is important for us to consider the needs of each individual child as we formulate class lists, requests by parents may not always be able to be met. Thank you for your understanding with this matter.
