At Pulteney we strive to offer a wide range of sports and activities for students to participate in.

In recent years we have seen the popularity of Archery, Aikido and Table Tennis rise to a point where we have needed to cap entry and even have a waiting list to participate.

I would argue, a great place to be, especially in a school where sport is non-compulsory.

The Sports Department will always support students in their athletic endeavours, even if they choose a sport which the school currently does not offer (or does not have the resources to offer).

One such sport is sailing, with one particular student demonstrating significant achievement over the last few years.

Benjamin Newman has recently performed extremely well in the SA Youth Tri Series.

Ben competed in the Metro Regatta in the Laser 4.7 class on February 13 and 14 at the Largs Bay Sailing Club.

In this regatta, Ben won six out of eight races in conditions that ranged from 4K to 24K.

On behalf of the Pulteney Community, the Sports Department congratulates to Ben on this wonderful achievement.

Fantastic effort Ben, we look forward to hearing more about your achievements to come!
