Languages Events

Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 15 at Pulteney this year. Our Kurrajong and ELC students will parade around the campus wearing red or traditional Chinese costume and using noisemakers to scare off the beast ‘Nian’. The Kurrajong and Prep students will then enjoy a dance performance in Wyatt Hall. Dumplings will be available for the Prep and Kurrajong students to order via the Qkr! App.

Languages and Culture Celebration Week
Week 10

The Languages faculty is excited to once again be hosting the Languages and Culture Celebration Week this year! Our students will be offered a large variety of activities both in and out of the language classrooms. Competitions, martial arts and cooking demonstrations, station-based learning, shuttlecock, sumo suits, Wei Qi, badge making and Easter Egg decorating are just some of the activities involved. Our International Lunch will be held on April 3. The Qkr! App will again be used to pre-order the meals so please make sure that you are au fait with the app!

Exchange Returnees

Over the summer 9 of our senior students travelled to Germany on various exchanges and scholarships. We have had heard some wonderful stories and the Year 12 have engaged in some very meaningful conversations about stereotypes versus the reality, what intercultural understanding really means and the differences in the school system. We are very proud of our students for putting themselves out of their comfort zones and grasping these amazing opportunities. Below are some of their favourite photos of their experiences.
