Our vision for the future
At Pulteney, we aim to develop in our students a passion for sustained curiosity, a commitment to thinking and working creatively and to nurturing a deep appreciation and respect for diversity.
As a city school, we offer a unique learning environment where the city becomes part of the classroom. We’re dedicated to maintaining the 18 hectares of sports grounds on South Terrace, preserving the school’s precious heritage, and fostering a sense of vibrancy and connection between all spaces within the school.
While the campus has many great assets, there are also a handful of spaces and areas that do not adequately support contemporary ways of learning or the everyday needs of a diverse and growing student community.
We have always been a forward thinking school and our multi-million dollar, staged Master Plan, launched in 2016, reflects our past but also the need to challenge ourselves to redesign how our cosmopolitan school will work with innovative learning spaces that encourage increased collaboration, creativity and confidence. It sets out an extensive program of capital works to ensure we remain financially and environmentally sustainable into the future and relates to our fourth strategic priority: ‘An innovative and integrated learning environment’.
The Master Plan has been developed through a process of research, consultation and planning by school staff, students, teachers and families; exploring their views about the school today, ideas for improving the campus experience and feedback regarding design progress.
