Enrolment

Applications

We are delighted that you are considering Pulteney Grammar School. All prospective students are welcome to experience a day as a Pulteney student. They will be teamed up with a buddy who will introduce them to school life.

Position on the list of applicants for each year level is determined primarily by the date that the application is received. Therefore, we encourage you to submit an application as early as possible.

The enrolment phase is activated approximately two years prior to commencement at Pulteney Grammar School. Please be aware that in particular, ELC and Year 7 entry is highly competitive and waitlists generally apply.

If you have previously submitted an application or deferred a place on our waitlist, please email or call the Enrolments Office to amend your application.

Before you begin your application, you will need the following information:

  • A copy of your child’s birth certificate
  • A copy of any court orders or parenting plans if applicable

Each application requires a non-refundable fee of *$100. You will be emailed an invoice to pay this fee with a confirmation letter as receipt of your application.

*Please note, this application fee does not apply for families of current siblings or Old Scholars.

The application process

Step 1
Application

Parents submit an online Application for Registration form with required documentation to place their child on the waitlist.

Step 2
Waitlist or offer

Pulteney makes offers at the beginning of March, two years in advance of the enrolment year. If you apply after this time, an offer will be made if places are still available, or your child will be placed on the waitlist.

Step 3
Acceptance of offer

Upon receiving an offer for a place at the school, parents have 14 days to accept by completing and returning the Enrolment Agreement with a non-refundable Enrolment Confirmation Fee of $750 to secure your child’s place.

Step 4
Orientation

Orientation packs are sent in October/November the preceding year, detailing when new students will meet their teachers and classmates on Orientation Day (also held in October or November). Pulteney’s orientation pack includes forms and online information required to commence your child’s educational journey at Pulteney.

Key Intakes Years

Major intakes occur in the following year levels:

  • Early Learning Centre (ELC) for 3 and 4-year-olds (apply early as places are offered from birth)
  • Reception and Mid-Year Reception (with preference given to continuing ELC students)
  • Year 5
  • Year 7

Intake at other year levels is dependent on availability and at the Principal’s discretion.
