Week 4 - 16 August
1st XI - Pulteney 3 defeated Concordia 1
The coaches could not pick a best player, the whole team played awesome. It was the best team performance all season. Players worked hard for one another, kept the team structure and the off-the-ball movement was exceptional which set up 3 goals in the second half. Well done to the girls.
Goal Scorers: Natasha Holmes, Kate Chapman, Poppy Brown
Second XI v St Peters Girls - game cancelled
Week 3 – 9 August
1st XI - Pulteney 1 defeated by Westminster School 2
The players used the ball very well and there were plenty of structured movements forward through sticking to the game plan. It was pleasing to see the ball movement and the collegiality of the team. We missed some good changes in front of goal and conceded a couple of lucky goals. A good team effort.
Goal Scorer: Katia Stamatelopoulos
Best players: Anna Evans, Natasha Holmes, Shona Heath
2nd XI - Pulteney 0 defeated by Walford 5
The Second Girls' Soccer Team played Walford’s A side and this was shown in the end result, with Pulteney unfortunately conceding 5-0. Pulteney let in some unfortunate goals after some touch mistakes in dangerous areas.
Best Player: Claire Nitschke
Week 2 - 2 August
1st XI - Pulteney 2 defeated by Wilderness Girls 3
The girls worked hard, effort was good and the ball movement was pleasing. A few touch mistakes in dangerous areas cost goals, which we can work on at training. A good start to the term, even though a disappointing loss.
Goal scorers: Tanya Oliver, Poppy Brown
Best players: Angelique Patsouris, Shona Heath, Katia Stamatelopoulos
2nd XI - Pulteney 0 defeated by Wilderness 4
The players started off slowly in the first half and unfortunately conceded most goals during this time. They picked up significantly in the second half though, working cohesively as a team and showing a lot more determination and drive. This was particularly evident in the last fifteen minutes of the game. A good team effort overall.
Best Player: Kate Chapman
