State Rowing Championships

Hosted by Pulteney and sponsored by UniSA

The State School Championships sponsored by UniSA was held on Saturday, April 2 at West Lakes. The conditions - sunny skies and calm waters - saw fast racing for the competitors in a program of more than 80 races.

The regatta attracted a large crowd who weren't disappointed with some close finishes on the day. Spectators lined the shore cheering their teams across the finish while enjoying a bacon and egg roll or even a wood-fired oven pizza. Sixteen schools entered teams in the regatta hosted by Pulteney Grammar School.

Postcards - Pulteney Tiffany windows replaced

Pulteney’s Chapel celebrated its 50th anniversary on 31 July 2009. The Chapel has an interesting history and use to house the largest Tiffany windows in the Southern Hemisphere. These were relocated to the Art Gallery in 2001 to ensure they’re properly preserved as part of our state’s art heritage. In June 2009 the windows were replaced with vibrant new stained glass windows, designed and built by artist Judith Carletti and Pulteney students. To see the new windows watch the Postcards story.
