Pulteney Grammar School

JA Mackinnon Building

On 23 August 2002, a plaque celebrating the name "Mackinnon Building" was unveiled Federal Minister of Education, The Hon. Dr. Brendan Nelson.

Jock Mackinnon served as Headmaster of Pulteney from 1973 to 1983 before moving on to establish the now thriving Radford College in Canberra. Jock oversaw a period of rapid growth at Pulteney and many of the values that the School now espouses can be linked to his time here. It was during this period that the operations of the School were restructured and a tradition of School performances and musicals was established.

Two other plaques were also unveiled. They acknowledge the generosity of both the Pulteney Old Scholars' Association and Phillip and Lois Antill. Phillip was an Old Scholar of Pulteney (1921 to 1929) and the new inner courtyard area (pictured above) is named in their honour.
