YEAR 7, 8 & 9 MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS 2009


Pulteney Grammar School offers Music Scholarships for students entering (or continuing) in Years 7, 8 or 9 in 2009.

These scholarships are available for instrumentalists and vocalists who are at least Grade 2 AMEB standard. Music Scholarship recipients are expected to play in at least two ensembles, contribute to the musical life of the School and study music as a class subject when it becomes elective at Year 9 level.

Closing Date:  Friday 15 February, 2008.

MUSIC AUDITIONS 2008


Auditions for Music Scholarships will be held in the Chapel at Pulteney Grammar School on Saturday 23 February 2008. Students will be expected to play two short contrasting pieces. There will also be some sight-reading, aural work and general discussion.

YEAR 5 CATHEDRAL CHOIR SCHOLARSHIPS 2009


Two Cathedral Choir Scholarships are available for students entering Year 5 in 2009. These vocal scholarships provide a 25% remission of tuition fees and require participation in the St Peter’s Cathedral Choir.

JA MACKINNON YEAR 10 ENTRY SCHOLARSHIPS 2009


Year 10 Entry Scholarships are awarded in the name of Mr JA Mackinnon, the Headmaster of Pulteney Grammar School between the years of 1973 – 1982. Mackinnon Scholarships are awarded to students of all-round ability to enter the School at Year 10 in 2009. These scholarships provide a 50% remission of tuition fees for the final three years of secondary education.

Closing Date:  Friday 11 April, 2008.

PHILLIP ANTILL YEAR 11 ENTRY SCHOLARSHIPS 2009


Year 11 Entry Scholarships are awarded in the name of Mr Phillip Antill, a student at Pulteney Grammar School between the years of 1924 – 1929 and a major benefactor to the School. These scholarships are awarded to encourage the study of English, providing a 50% remission of tuition fees for their final two years of secondary education to a student entering Year 11 in 2009.

PULTENEY GRAMMAR SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAMME


Music is an integral part of the curriculum from the early Learning centre through to Year Eight at Pulteney Grammar School. From Year 9, music is offered as an elective subject. Involvement in extra curricula music is welcomed and valued.

Musical ensembles are very active in school life and in the wider community, providing music for many events such as Carol’s Night, Speech Night, Commonwealth Day. choral festivals etc.
