Direction
OUR GOALOur goal is to be the most highly regarded co-educational school in South Australia.
Pulteney’s history is both proud and dynamic. We are already the school of choice for many parents seeking an outstanding Early Learning to Year 12 educational experience. We intend to make it even better for your sons and daughters.
OUR PURPOSEWe want to build an environment in our school where it is OK to dream, for it is as dreams that great accomplishments begin.
OUR VALUESFor 160 years Pulteney has honoured its Anglican tradition. We challenge all who join the Pulteney community to explore and develop their spiritual awareness and personal faith with the underlying purpose of prospering the world.
Relationships based on respect, hard-work and commitment are at the core of what we do. They require us all to listen, to communicate, to understand and to welcome feedback, so that we are better able to share our thoughts, to be heard, and to be understood.
Our commitment is to our students and to their learning. Our outstanding teachers provide opportunities for children to engage in learning that brings them deep satisfaction.
Our energy is directed towards the quality of teaching and learning and to the quality of relationships between and among staff, students, parents, old scholars and the broader school community.
OUR OBJECTIVES1. Provide a Vibrant Learning Environment
We
want our students to be enriched by their experiences within and beyond
the classroom – to experience the wonder and excitement of learning;
to learn in modern, exciting and effective ways; to be challenged to
think critically, creatively and ethically; to have their curiosity
aroused and their dreams nurtured; to engage in intellectual,
physical, recreational and cultural pursuits as a foundation for
engagement in a meaningful and purposeful adult life; to connect
confidently with young people and with adults to forge relationships
and a sense of community based on principles of respect, tolerance,
fairness, responsibility and care for others.
2. Employ and Develop Outstanding Teachers
Pulteney seeks out high calibre teachers who can make a positive difference in the lives of the young people they meet.
In
supporting our teachers to provide the best possible learning
experiences for our students, they will be encouraged in their
professional and personal development.
3. Be progressive in all we do
At
Pulteney we look to the future. Fresh and innovative ideas are
encouraged and celebrated. We have no fear of change, so long as there
are clear benefits for the students in our care.
4. Build and Maintain Great Facilities
Pulteney’s physical environment reflects our city heritage and our vision of the future.
Every opportunity to refurbish, to re-model or to build anew begins with the idea of better providing for the learning of our students.
5. Exude an Inclusive Community Spirit
The quality of relationships is at the core of what we do and they provide the foundation upon which to build a powerful and positive sense of community – a school community that values all of its parts and values its links beyond the school.
Our community is welcoming and inclusive. It celebrates and values its many constituents – students, parents, old scholars, the city and beyond.
6. Ensure Financial Sustainability
Finances at Pulteney are managed so that all of our commitments may be honoured while allowing for the continual improvement of the school.
This occurs in a manner which is respectful of those paying fees, but with a clear understanding of what is required to achieve the school’s goal and purpose.
Pulteney contributes substantially to the lives of those it touches and we encourage a spirit of philanthropy so that we can grow and thrive long into the future, to the benefit of future generations of Pulteney students. |
