Pulteney Grammar School Archives
The Pulteney Grammar School Archives aims to preserve records and
artefacts that illustrate the origins, development and continuing
history of the school. Material held includes Council Minutes and
correspondence, school registers, photographs, school programmes,
school magazines, uniforms and memorabilia.
Early material from the school’s time in Pulteney Street from 1848
and the early participation of girls in the school until 1884 is
preserved. A large proportion of the material held comes from
Pulteney’s nearly 120 years as an all boys school, although with the
return to co-education in 1999 girls are again represented in the
records of the school.
The Archives is open by appointment from 9am – 1pm, Tuesday to
Thursday. If you would like further information regarding the Pulteney
Grammar School Archives, wish to make a donation, or make an
appointment, please email the Archivist, Samantha Cooper, at scooper@pulteney.sa.edu.au , or telephone on 08 8216 5546 during opening times.
